Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania spring/summer 2009 collection was the grand finale at Berlin's Fashion Week last week. Her and her friend, Sex And The City star, Kim Cattrall sat front row at the much anticipated show. Cattrall looked amazed with the whole collection, having always been a Westwood fan herself (her stunning red dress at the SATC movie premier was in fact Westwood). After her explosion onto the fashion 'punk' scene in the 70's and 80's, Westwood has held onto her punk inspired designs throughout her career and recently her new collections have had various uber fabulous twists which inevitably capture more of the fashion savvy audiences. The 2009 collection saw an incredible collaboration between her usual style and a Greek/Grecian theme (with even a slight 50's feel to some of the pieces).
There was the usual attention to the neckline of the clothes, some draping over one shoulder adding to the Grecian theme. Column dresses, over sized T shirt dresses, grape prints and various Greek antiquity emblems adorned the catwalk which in turn received a huge applause and a very welcome standing ovation. Bold prints and huge colour, with some metallic, also featured along with her now trademark pirate boots (some with a Greek inspired re-vamp) both in the men's and women's collections. It seems Viv's newest collection of visually stimulating colours, ideas, graphics and fabrics was a huge hit with most of this years Fashion catwalks. With her constant and constantly fresh anarchistic approach to fashion she will always have a massive following, me being one! Check out some of the collection below, hugely recommended by The Very!
