Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Does it matter if your black or white??

I LOVE Beyonce, she can't put a foot wrong in my eyes, however I am a little confused as to why she gave the 'go ahead' on the new L'Oreal ad campaign pictures. We all know she is one of the fiercest Black woman artists and performers in the world, selling over 15 million albums and singles worldwide and winning no less than 5 Grammy awards in one night at the 2004 ceremony, so why oh why is she sprawled across print and TV adverts looking whiter than an albino (a slight exaggeration I know, but it gets the point across) after being air brushed to the max?

A spokesperson from L'Oreal commented that
"It is categorically untrue that L'Oréal Paris altered Ms. Knowles' features or skin-tone in the campaign for Feria hair color"... L'Oreal might not have directly, but I think the person they employ to carry out the the ever-popular 'tweaking' of these kind of pictures has definitely altered it, there's simply no doubt! And just to clarify... both of Beyonce's parents are African American ( her mother is of Creole descent) which means the milky complexion she has in this campaign is as unnatural as her bleach blond weaves.

I think the L'Oreal team might need to put on their glasses ASAP and Beyonce might have to think about her heritage (and fans) rather than her already bulging bank balance before signing any more million $ deals!
