Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Thank God for Ashish

Don't ever assume that sequined clothes are for cruise ship singers. In his spring summer 2010 catwalk show on Saturday, Ashish presented yet another collection that injected some colour into what seems to be a very neutral-hued season. And thank God! With London Fashion Week diminishing by the day every season, we need some Ashish to make it all worth it.
The man behind the sequins said of the Ashish women that she is 'fun-loving and sexy with a sense of humour' - much like his clothes then! This particular collection was inspired by "summer vacations, holiday romance and faraway places". The show opened with sequined Hawaiian print shirts and shorts and carried on with dresses emblazoned with; the Eiffel Tower, the Italian map, the Statue of Liberty, a New York skyline to name a few. More sequins in the shape of sloganised tops came next with 'Italians Do It Better', 'Same Old Chic' and 'Life Is A Beach' scrawled on them. He also mixed it up with bleached denim and spikes which pulled together a slight 80s feel.
In short we should take from his fashion exactly what he presents; a chance to express, a chance to use colour and a chance to SHINE.
