I've said before that this year is most definitely the year of the dress. Be it long, short, floaty, body-con, feathered, sequined, chiffon, lace and all the other options - the A listers really have given us all a delectable smorgasbord of gorgeous couture eye candy and for that, I thank you!

The Cannes Film Festival is like one big catwalk. I don't know if it's the weather or the place or the good films... oh God, who am I kidding, it's because the whole world is watching through the paparazzi lens that all the stars remortgage their mansions to buy their fabulous fashions.

There were, of course, a few disasters. There has to be. When is there a red carpet situation without the obligatory attention seeking celeb? Never. I'm talking Bjork circa 2001 in the swan dress or, on our own shores, Ms Jodie Marsh in 'Belt-gate' (although why I'm adding to her already long enough column inches is beyond me!)
