Bored one day at home I decided to organise an event. I had no idea what, where, who or why but I knew I wanted to do one. You see, the thing is, when you're in this industry (without sounding disgustingly patronizing or remotely big headed) you DO go to a lot of events. I've been to so many and seen the canapes get smaller and smaller and the drinks get fancier and fancier. That's not to say I don't like going, because I do. I just wanted my own, as a sense of purpose.
You don't need to be a genius to work out that my favourite word is 'AMAZING', with all it's different abbreviations as part of my every vocabulary (amaze, amazy, amay, a my new one, amazings). So naturally this was to be the name of my event - AMAZE. I wanted to bring together some AMAZE fashion bloggers and some even more AMAZE fashion PRs.
And what is an event without booze and nibbles? I wanted to keep it simple, so chose Champers and cup cakes. What a perfect combination, no? It all went down a treat. I have to, at this point, say a MASSIVE thanks to Arcadia (you know who you are...) for the bubbly and the Primrose Bakery for the cakes. YUM little slices of heaven.
I was petrified no one would turn up, but I'm pleased to say that loads did. Some of the AMAZE bloggers who graced the lovely Fleming Hotel tea rooms included Anastasia and Duck, DisneyRollerGirl, Freak Deluxe, British Beauty Blogger, Beauty and the Dirt, SCforM, Katie Chutzpah and the gorgeous Charlie May. They of course not only loved the venue, drink and cakes, but the goody bag too! I have to say, I was envious I couldn't take one for myself, they were THAT good! BARBIE HAS OFFICIALLY RE-ENTERED THE BUILDING! (see below)
Have a look at some pics from my AMAZE event. I'll be hosting another one soon, so be sure to come back and see!
Some Barbie accessories. The Little Black Dress Barbie comes with LOADS! Lucky lucky girl. It's kinda scary when a plastic doll has a better accessory collection than most shops can offer us humans!
