I love making a statement through what I wear. At one stage in my life, not that long ago, I only wore black because I thought it was the most slimming colour on me, but those days a long gone. Yes, I do have many a black shirt - it's a staple of mine - but for every one of them in my closet, there are 3 statement-making pieces. And denim specialist, FALLOW, are my newest statement crush.
A cape is a quick way to get noticed. I bought the H&M men's one when it came out last winter and wore it a handful of times, getting compliments and 'I wish I could get away wearing that' looks (or at least that's what I thought they were!) every time. FALLOW's denim capes, with tan leather trims, are some of the best I've seen.
Fallow use denim sourced from Japan with details, like the deerskin patches, made here in the UK. Their capes are so easy to wear, unlike my H&M one, because really and truly denim goes with everything. And these are clever capes too because they do take more of a 'shirt' aesthetic which means adding the drama but not the dramatics!
I'm going to be swishing mine, like Andre Leon Talley or Sherlock Holmes (the former preferably), forever!
