Jesus. Bleedin'. Christ. So every time I see Tilda Swinton on the red carpet I'm a little more blown away by her outfit choices. But when I see her on the cover of Candy magazine - labelled as 'the first transversal style magazine - dressed up like a big ol' queen, I LITERALLY CAN'T SPEAK!
Stripped of her signature Haider Ackermann or Lanvin gowns, Tilda is dolled up to the nines, transformed if you will (mind the pun), in a rather magnificent gold creation teamed with a red wig, then a massive dark wig and then an Amy Winehouse style do whilst stuffing her bra. This is probably the most amazing cover and shoot, or my favourite at least, of the whole year, and I suspect it will remain this for a long time.
And do you know why? It's SO not Tilda. It's such a move away from what we are used to from the actress. It's pure brilliance. Candy have done an amazing job. This is true transformation at it's best. Playing with an androgynous woman's style and pushing her boundaries like this really is incredible.
I'm off to study the images again. I just can't stop looking at them. And then I'm going to watch Rupaul's Drag Race... obvs!
