Find me a woman, and a man or two, who is not completely and utterly obsessed with Sophie Hulme's genius bags and I'll give you a prize.
You'd be hard pushed, for this young British designer is rather special. After graduating in 2007 from Kingston University, it wasn't long before she became the darling of the It Hand Bag brigade. Her signature minimal metal hardware added to handles make her totes... AMAZE! (get it?).
I asked Sophie who the Hulme girl is, and what the highlight of her career so far has been, here's what she said:
"My collections are designed as objects rather than 'looks' so there isn't a Sophie Hulme girl as such. What thrills me is seeing people wear my pieces in such completely different ways. I find my customers incredibly inspiring. One of the highlights of my career so far has been designing a collection of cases for Globe-Trotter which will be out later this year. When I was told that I was the first designer to change the design of the handle in 115 years by encasing it in my signature gold hardware I was blown over."
