Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

When catwalk styling is oh so wrong... Dsquared2

Last week's Grazia, the one with Demi Moore on the front, includes probably one of my favourite shoots they've ever done. Give me some tropical flowers and some back lightening and I'm anyone's. All the clothes were black, but they had that amazing glow to them, much like Beyone did in her Deja Vu video (the end bit, in the forest, just after she does her crazy jungle/tribe dance).

There was one shot in particular that caught my attention. This one (above), with the fringed dress from Dsquared2 which has fast become my 'It' dress of this season. Granted it's wildly impractical, but I'm sure you all know by now that that is the kind of fashion I love and thrive on.

But, lovely reader, this is prime example of catwalk styling gone wrong. For their runway show, designers Dean and Dan from Dsquared2 (OK, the show's stylist) put a belt with this dress which, if you ask me, completely ruins it. Why try and tame the fringing? EMBRACE IT FOR GOD'S SAKE! What's more, orange boots? OhmiGod please no more! It's like fashion road kill.

Obviously Dean and Dan need to employ Teddy to style up their shows in future. Strappy shoes and red lips are accessory enough. The breath taking fringing speaks for itself.

I'm off to try it on...
