I'm so glad I can FINALLY show you all these pics from behind the scenes of New Look's menswear shoot for their autumn winter 2013 look book. I know I know, we're only JUST getting sun now, but one of the perks about my job is that I get to see clothes six months before they actually come out.The downside of this is that I want it all NOW NOW NOW, but unfortunately I have to wait for it all to come out.Anyway, back to the shoot. The venue was The House Next Door in Stoke Newington which I'd heard lots about before I arrived. It's basically an old building merchants, with loads of original features - some of the rooms look like they haven't been touched for centuries. Cracked, crumbling walls, exposed wooden joists, regal furniture (which was all perfect for the Downton Abbey trend) and weathered corrugated metal walls that were perfect to show off the new clothes.I love going on shoots, not least for the amazing food (oh my God, if I had one more brownie I'd burst), but to see the photographer, stylist, models, hair and makeup people and assistants all at work. It's amazing to witness the journey from clothes on a rail to on the model, to the photographer's direction, then peering over shoulders to see the shots on the screen, then finally to actually seeing the end image. This look book isn't actually complete yet, the shoot was only two weeks ago, but I can't wait to see all the pics.Just to fill you in on the trends that were shot on the day: Hot Rod, From Russia, Altitude and Downton. I know those names don't really mean much (well, apart from Downton - all heritage and suits), but you'll see from the pics where they fit in.Here's some behind the scenes pics...
And here's the product...
For next season, I'm LOVING New Look's sweaters and jumpers. The green check one and the duck are my personal favourites, in fact anything with an animal print on has thumbs up from me!
Keep an eye for all this AMAZING product, dropping in stores from August. Shop New Look's menswear here...
