The Queen ALWAYS looks amazing, well turned out and super chic for a woman of 87-years-old. Line every picture of her up next to each other, and collectively she's worn every bright colour of the rainbow (she has to be easily seen), accessorized with millions of feathers (for school visits she wears things that appeal to children) and even taken inspiration from memorials (the gold dress she wore for her Jubilee was inspired by the statue of Queen Victoria). So when it's time for the state opening of Parliament - one of the most prominent events in her calendar - with all its pomp and tradition, it's time to bring out the big guns, as it were, from her wardrobe. And that's exactly what happened on Wednesday. The Queen chose an Angela Kelly, fully beaded white gown to team with the Crown Jewels for the event. Here's what some of my blogger friends thought of Her Majesty's outfit...

The Diamond Queen strikes again in a recycled sequined gown by Angela Kelly. See? Kate didn't invent recycling royal clothes after all! Rocking the State Diadem, Queen Victoria's jubilee necklace and pearl drop earrings with a handsome prince by her side, it is just another day at the office for Queen Elizabeth II!

I loathe to be disrespectful to the Queen but she looks like a big bride. I can't really comment on what might be appropriate for a state opening, unfortunately I've never been asked to attend one, but I am sure it didn't need to be quite so .. er.. white.

If we ever needed a reason to believe fur is back, let Queenie show you the way. Loving this look and think she should recycle said outfit for P Diddy's White Party this summer. So chic.
***And moi...***
I'm agreeing with Marilyn on this one. A recycled dress is a good one, especially complimented with all those diamonds! For the state opening, it looks like she always wears white, maybe it's to tie in with her on-the-fence stance to politics. She couldn't wear red or blue now, could she??
