Yes, once again, it's official. I'm in love. This time with MCM's collaboration with pop art duo Craig Redman and Karl Maier (exhibits in the past at the Musée de la Publicité and the Louvre). 'Eyes On The Horizon', lovely reader, is quite possibly the most fun I've seen in a bag collaboration... ever!In a bid never to re-hash press releases, I think in this instance the PR has done a super job of describing the influences behind Craig and Karl's joyous bag art:
The 'Eyes on the Horizon' collection by Craig & Karl evokes a sunny optimism, recalling sun-kissed vacations and the youthful excitement of an endless summer... Craig is based in New York and Karl in London so they are always a horizon's distance away from each other. Despite their locations they still collaborate on an everyday basis to create bold work that is filled with simple messages executed in a thoughtful and often humorous way.
I never want THIS particular summer to end. These bags are a breath of fresh air in the ever-stuffy world of exorbitantly high-end carryalls, and offer some much-needed comic relief. They are also a GREAT conversation starter...

This collaboration happened because the first one with Craig Redman on the Shanghai collection was such a success and so loved by our customers. This time we thought we'd work with Craig again, but also with his partner in crime Karl Maier.
