I thought it was about time. Not to blow my own trumpet, but a few people have asked why I don't really do outfit posts on the blog, and the answer is... I don't really know! It's not like I don't have fun, photogenic clothes, and it's not like I'm shy. OK, so maybe I have only just found my 'good' camera, which was buried under a mountain of stuff. That might be why!Anyway, here's the first of hopefully many. And I thought it was a very good time to do this shoot whilst up in Malton, North Yorkshire, to review the rather amazing Talbot Hotel. The hotel, although just off the main road through Malton, has the most gorgeous gardens, which I thought would make a great contrast to my Blood Brother leather joggers, black and white printed sweater and Jaeger duffle.Did I also mention that Talbot is dog friendly? Oh yes! This is mainly what drew me to this particular hotel. There aren't actually many dog friendly hotels in the UK - apparently the Mal Maison group have now stopped allowing dogs - so this was a big selling point for me. And Dhilly, who loved his bed and bowls.

The 26 bedroom Talbot Hotel actually went through a £4million refurbishment, and re-0pened in 2012. It has got that charming country home feel about it, with big comfy sofas in the drawing room - the first thing we did was have afternoon tea in there, with Dhilly in tow of course (he came down to breakfast too) - embroidered cushions everywhere, and we even spotted the owners re-arranging the furniture and pieces of artwork whilst staying there. Was so lovely. I'm having a bit of a love affair at the moment with Blood Brother's offerings. Their printed sweats are my LIFE right now (check out this one too), and these are the first pair of their joggers I own... I haven't taken them off since I got them. Leather and drop crotch = SOOOOO ME!
All the bedrooms are designed and furnished individually. Ours had this massive stand alone bath. I've literally ALWAYS wanted one of these. And posh Penhaligon's accoutrement too! And below is the restaurant (2AA rosette), which served some AMAZING food and is headed up by celebrity chef, James Martin. We were treated to a three course meal, menu below, which quite frankly was the best food I've had for a LONG time!

Thank you to all at the Talbot Hotel for making out stay amazing. Photography by my other half, Nik.
