As you probably know, I'm on a never-ending journey to find the best ouds in the world. I say never ending because just when I think I've found THE ONE, I end up falling in love with another. Case in point, this new Elie Saab fragrance.So in brief, Elie Saab, the master couturier, he of the stunning gowns, has released four fragrances to celebrate haute couture in scents. He teamed up with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian (another of my favourites, see here) to create La Collection des Essences,this one being Essence No 4: Oud.It seems everything these two brilliant designers touch turns to gold. Like his gowns, these fragrances have depth, beautiful layers and a sublime sense of style. This isn't a super strong Oud, it's more peppery than intense wood, super gorgeous.I've smelt Nos 1 and 3, Rose and Ambre, both equally as amazing (the Ambre is actually quite manly (all four are unisex), lots of sandalwood).La Collection des Essences are available exclusively at Harrods.
