I'm so glad capes are back.Not that they went anywhere, but obviously they aren't particularly very summery. I knew I MUCH preferred the season of autumn/winter for a reason!When I saw this picture of Gigi Hadid (above), I did a big gasp. Her Leonard cape-coat is literally everything I look for in a winter cover-up: statement, oversized and AMAZING. I didn't expect to see Gigi in something like this, but it works brilliantly on her!Rihanna wowed in her Christian Dior Couture cape when she attended the SS16 show. It looks like she is wearing this as a dress, but on the catwalk is paired over a long floaty dress.I love it when Rihanna goes all girly. She kept it her own though, with those tough-edge patent boots. This cape... OMG it's stunning. That colour! That big pocket! I just love love love how big it is.DRAMAAAA!And here's Anna Dello Russo (Editor-at-Large of Vogue Japan, if you didn't know). The queen of couture and 'out there' pieces. Here she is, at Paris Fashion Week SLAYING this KTZ fringed cape.You can rely on Anna to show you the extreme side of ANY trend. This is pure amazingness if you ask me!So you see people, capes are BIG news this season. Quite literally... go oversized for maximum impact, and maximum warmth! Also, you can see that you can wear them anywhere: over your jeans and with trainers; to a posh do; or to the shops. Coz you know that's where Anna will be wearing hers next!
