Thom Browne is a man after my own heart, what with his amazing Dachshund bags...
Meet Hector Browne. This is Thom's very own sausage dog, who somewhat inspired the designer's new women's pre-fall 2016 and men's autumn winter 2016 collections.
Well, not the whole collections. For women, Dachshunds appeared as embroideries on skirt hems, over capes and printed onto ties. Not forgetting bags: furry styles like the one above, to exactly resemble Hector the wire haired Daxie, and rendered in leather as clutches and little handbags - in all black, or white, red and black mixes.
OBSESSION LEVELS AT AN ALL TIME MAXIMUM!!!
Aren't they just amazing? I'm afraid, and I hope Thom isn't reading this, but I'm too distracted to look at the clothes. Apart from the Daxie-splattered ones obviously. Browne makes amazing clothes anyway, so it's not like I'm taking anything away from his craftsmanship. It's just... OMG actual sausage dogs!!!
TOO AMAZING.
For us men, the Dachshunds came on hats, ties, waistcoats, as armband embroidery on jackets and even on buttons...
Plus more and more bags: furry, like the womens, and leather options too, in worn slate grey and black...
And you'll notice that the above menswear bags come in various degrees of wear. That's intentional. Thom Browne, for menswear AW16, is all about reminiscing and nostalgia and, according to Vogue.com, "about 13 guys revisiting their gentlemen’s club of 30 years ago".
Each look was presented in trios: the first looked like it had been moth eaten and shredded, the second a little less ragged, and the third perfect. That's a LOT of work invested into the looks Browne created. You have to really trust your own genius, which Browne definitely does.
Again, the clothes are always great for men, but it's the bags I'm staring at/obsessed with/definitely need this time Thom!
